Summer/Fall 2017

It has been a stellar year aboard the Irish Hammer. Busiest year to date. Thank you to all the repeats and first timers. Memories to last a lifetime.

This year was our most productive year for salmon fishing on the eastern basin of Lake Ontario that I can remember. The normal migration of salmon from western Lake Ontario to the eastern end was accelerated. Salmon showed up early and stuck around from Oswego, up to Henderson Harbor most of the season which created non-stop activity for many charters. Abundant numbers of fish were found in the tight water out front of Oswego out to 650 feet of water. A tough start to the season due to record high levels of water resulted in a season that will be talked about for years to come.

Lake Ontario provides some of the finest freshwater fishing in the United States.  Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Chinook salmon, Coho salmon, Atlantic salmon, and Steelhead are all out there for the taking. Anglers come from near and far for the opportunity to land trophy Salmon and Trout throughout the eastern basin of Lake Ontario.  Take a look at a few of the tackle busting slobs that our clients and friends have caught.
